Mince Pies Recipe
- 2 1/2 c. all purpose flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 2 tbsp. water
- 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon grnd nutmeg
- 2 Large eggs
- 1 (28 ounce.) jar mincemeat
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Combine first 9 ingredients to make pastry.
- Roll out to about 1/8 inch thick.
- Cut into rounds and place in muffin tin.
- Spoon a little mincemeat into each pastry shell and then top with a smaller round of pastry, crimp edges of pastry together and trim excess.
- Bake in middle of oven for 10 to 12 min.
- When cold, remove and lightly dust with powdered sugar.
- Often served with whipped cream.
