Easter Bread I Recipe

  1. Scald lowfat milk.
  2. Stir in sugar, salt and shortening; set aside to cold.
  3. Measure water into large bowl.
  4. Crumble yeast into water; stir till dissolved.
  5. Mix lowfat milk and yeast mix together.
  6. Add in Large eggs.
  7. Stir in 3 c. of flour; beat till smooth.
  8. Add in sufficient flour to make a soft dough.
  9. Turn out dough on lightly floured board; knead quickly and lightly to smooth and elastic, and does not stick.
  10. Place in a greased bowl.
  11. Cover and let rise till double in bulk.
  12. Roll dough into 12-inch rope.
  13. Braid 2 ropes together.
  14. Place in greased pan.
