Chinese Pepper Steak Recipe
- 1 lb beef chuck steak, cut into strips
- 2 tbls oil
- 2 tbls onion, minced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup celery, sliced
- 2 green peppers cut into thin strips
- 2 red pimento cut into thin strips
- 1/2 cup consome or stock
- salt and pepper
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 3 cups cooked rice
- Add oil, brown beef slowly.
- Add onion, garlic, celery, green pepper and pimento.
- Add consome, season with salt and pepper.
- Cover and simmer at least 20 minutes.
- Thicken cornstarch blended with water and soy sauce.
- Serve hot with cooked rice.
