Chocolate Pecan Pie

  1. Melt
  2. the
  3. chocolate with butter in the top of a double boiler over medium heat.
  4. Remove from water and cool slightly. Combine the eggs, sugar, salt, corn syrup and rum in a mixing bowl
  5. and beat
  6. to
  7. blend.
  8. Beat
  9. in the cooled chocolate and butter.
  10. Place pecans
  11. in the bottom of the pie shell and add the egg mixture. Bake in a preheated oven (350u0b0) for 40 to 50 minutes.
  12. The
  13. top should be soft and the center not quite set when
  14. the pie is shaken.
  15. Serve with whipped cream that barely holds a soft peak. Serves 6 or 8.
