Hearty Lentil Soup

  1. In a large kettle, combine all ingredients.
  2. Bring to a boil.
  3. Cover and simmer for 3 to 4 hours.
  4. Remove ham hocks.
  5. Cut meat off bones.
  6. Return meat to soup and serve.
  7. Crockpot directions: Combine all ingredients in crockpot.
  8. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 9 hours until lentils are tender.
  9. Cut meat off ham hocks.
  10. Return meat to soup and serve.
