Oatmeal Cookies
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 12 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3 cups quick-cooking rolled oats
- 12 cup walnuts (optional)
- 34 cup raisins (optional)
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cream shortening and brown and white sugars.
- Add eggs and vanilla and beat together.
- Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture.
- Stir in oats, nuts and raisins.
- Roll into balls and place on cookie sheet (not to close together)
- Press out balls.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
