Buttermilk Biscuits With Milk Gravy Recipe

  1. Preheat oven to 450.
  2. Mix flour, soda, salt, and baking pwdr.
  3. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender.
  4. Add in buttermilk and mix quickly till dough forms a ball.
  5. Turn out on a floured surface and knead a few times.
  6. Pat or possibly roll out to a 1/2-inch thickness; then cut with a floured biscuit cutter.
  7. Bake approximately 12 mintes on an ungreased baking sheet.
  8. Yield:approx.
  9. 15 biscuits Lowfat milk GRAVY: Save 4 Tbsp.
  10. of pan drippings (or possibly butter) and place over low heat.
  11. Stir in 4 tbs.
  12. of flour and continue stirring till smooth and bubbly.
  13. Add in 2 c. lowfat milk and stir till thickened.
  14. Salt and pepper to taste and serve piping warm.
