Jalapeno Popper Grilled Sandwich

  1. On a hot grill, char the jalapenos, flipping to char all sides.
  2. This will take about 10-15 minutes.
  3. Place charred jalapenos in a sealed bag to steam them.
  4. After about 10 minutes, remove them from the bag and gently peel off the skin (see note below).
  5. Slice off the tops of the peppers and discard.
  6. Slice down one side of the pepper and carefully remove the seed and ribs of the pepper.
  7. Preheat a griddle to 375 degrees F.
  8. Next, combine the cream cheese, minced green onion and black pepper in a small bowl.
  9. Spread desired amount of cream cheese mixture onto two slices of bread then layer on the jalapenos and cheese.
  10. Butter outer sides of each of the bread slices, top with another slice of bread and cook the sandwiches on the heated griddle until golden and crispy.
  11. *Note: Always wear gloves while handling jalapenos or any spicy peppers.
