Stuffed Peppers Supreme(Green)
- 4 large green bell peppers
- 2 Tbsp. Mazola oil
- 2 Tbsp. chopped onion
- 1 tsp. salt
- pepper to taste
- 1/2 c. grated cheese
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 3/4 to 1 c. cooked rice
- bit of garlic salt
- 1/2 tsp. sweet basil
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 c. buttered crumbs
- Cut washed peppers in half and remove seeds and membrane. Cook in boiling water for 5 minutes.
- Place in buttered casserole. Brown beef and onion in oil and drain off fat.
- Add 1 cup of the tomato sauce and seasonings and cooked rice.
- Spoon mixture into green peppers, heaping full, then pour the rest of tomato sauce over all.
- Cover and bake at 350u0b0 for 20 minutes.
- Uncover. Sprinkle with grated cheese and buttered crumbs and bake 10 minutes more.
