Meg Wolffs Glazed Brussels Sprouts

  1. Cut the washed Brussels sprouts into halves or quarters, depending on their size.
  2. Heat sesame oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the cut-up Brussels sprouts and saute for 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Add 1/4 cup water.
  5. Cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 3 to 5 minutes.
  6. Mix the glaze ingredients (apple juice, remaining 1/8 cup water, soy sauce, brown rice syrup) in a measuring cup or small bowl and whisk together.
  7. Remove the skillet cover, add the glaze, and cook for 3 more minutes.
  8. Serve warm.
