Grandmother's Birthday Cake

• 1 (18 ounce) box angel food cake mix
• 2 cups fresh strawberries, crushed
• 12 cup sugar
• 1 cup fresh strawberries
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 egg white

1. CAKE :.
2. Make angel food cake according to package directions.
3. When cool, slice into 2 layers.
4. Combine strawberries & sugar, then spread over bottom cake layer.
5. Place top layer over filling, then cover with frosting.
6. FROSTING :.
7. Put ingredients in bowl & beat with a mixer until VERY stiff & sugar is completely dissolved.
8. It will take 10 minutes or more.
9. Spread frosting over top & sides of cake until completely covered.
