Holiday Fudge White Recipe

  1. In a large, heavy saucepan, combine sugar, lowfat milk, butter, and salt.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently till sugar dissolves.
  3. Cook over low heat to soft ball stage (238 degrees), stirring often.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Cold to room temperature, without stirring, to lukewarm.
  6. Add in flavorings; heat vigorously till fudge becomes thick and loses its gloss.
  7. Stir in nuts and cherries, spread in greased 8"x8" square pan.
  8. When hard, cut into squares.
