Holiday Fudge White Recipe
- 4 c. sugar
- 2 c. lowfat milk
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/3 c. minced candied cherries
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/3 c. minced pecans
- In a large, heavy saucepan, combine sugar, lowfat milk, butter, and salt.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently till sugar dissolves.
- Cook over low heat to soft ball stage (238 degrees), stirring often.
- Remove from heat.
- Cold to room temperature, without stirring, to lukewarm.
- Add in flavorings; heat vigorously till fudge becomes thick and loses its gloss.
- Stir in nuts and cherries, spread in greased 8"x8" square pan.
- When hard, cut into squares.
