- 1/4 c. Sherry
- 4 tsp chili-garlic sauce
- 1 Tbsp. chopped peeled fresh ginger
- 1 Tbsp. oriental sesame oil

- Sprinkle with Chinese five-spice pwdr and onion pwdr; rub mix into meat.
- Whisk remaining ingredients in small bowl to blend.
- Pour sauce over ribs, turning to coat.
- Turn ribs meat-side down; cover pan with aluminum foil and chill overnight.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Bake ribs, covered, till just tender, about 30 min.
- Uncover and turn ribs meat-side up; bake till ribs are cooked through, basting occasionally, about 35 min.
- Cut meat between bones to separate ribs and serve.
- This recipe yields 6 servings.
- Comments: If you prefer to grill the ribs - that will intensify the hoisin flavor - remove them from the marinade (don't bake) and grill them over medium heat till tender and lightly charred, turning often and basting occasionally with marinade, about 25 min.
- Look for chili-garlic sauce in the Asian foods section of supermarkets.
