Chocolate Chew Cookies Recipe
- 1 (6 ounce.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 c. softened butter (1/4 lb.)
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 Large eggs
- 2 c. all purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- In top of a double boiler over simmering water or possibly in a small pan over lowest possible heat, stir chocolate chips till just melted; set aside.
- In large bowl of an electric mixer, beat butter and 1 c. of the sugar till creamy; beat in Large eggs and melted chocolate.
- In another bowl stir together flour, salt, baking pwdr, and baking soda; gradually add in to butter mix, blending thoroughly.
- Place remaining 1/4 c. sugar in a small bowl.
- Roll dough into 1 inch balls and roll in sugar to coat.
- Place at least 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets.
- Bake in a 350 degree oven for 12-14 min or possibly till tops appear dry.
- Let cold on baking sheet for about a minute, then transfer to racks to cold completely.
- Makes about 3 1/2 dozen.
