Plum Sweet & Sour Sauce Recipe
- 1 can crushed pineapple in syrup
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. water
- 1 c. vinegar
- 1 tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 tbsp. cool water
- 1 c. plum jam or possibly orange marmalade
- Heat pineapple with syrup, sugar, 1 c. water, vinegar and soy sauce to boiling.
- Mix cornstarch and 2 Tbsp.
- cool water, stir into pineapple mix.
- Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
- Cold to room temperature, stir in plum jam.
- Cover and chill.
- Makes 6 c..
- Serve with egg rolls and wontons.
