Simple Apple Crumble
- 2 1/2 cup granny smith apples peeled and chopped (I use about 5 apples, and sometimes I combine GS apples with kenzi apples)
- 1 lemon juice
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp all spice
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 tsp granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 10 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
- Get all your ingredients sorted, apples peeled and chopped, etc.
- Mix peeled and chopped apples with the lemon juice, cinnamon, all spice, vanilla, and 3 tsp sugar.
- Set aside.
- In another bowl mix sugar, butter and pecans/walnuts (if used), till you obtain a creamy mix.
- Add the egg, flour and salt.
- Mix well, make sure there are no lumps.
- Add mix on top of the apples.
- Spread the mix evenly all over the apples, till it's all covered.
- Bake at 350F / 180C for 45-60 minutes or till it's golden brown.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, or vanilla custard sauce.
