Chestnut Rice (With Glutinous Mochi Rice)
- 540 ml Uncooked rice
- 1 cup Mochi rice (optional)
- 400 grams Chestnuts
- 1 Black sesame seeds
- 2 tbsp Sake
- 1 1/2 tsp Salt
- Rinse the rice and let it sit in a colander for an hour so the moisture evaporates.
- Quickly bring the chestnuts to a boil, then turn off the heat and cool down in water.
- Peel and soak in water for an hour.
- Put the rice and water in the rice cooker, add the salt and sake, and stir.
- Then, add the chestnuts and switch the cooker on.
- When it's done, let it steam for 10 minutes, and then mix, taking care not to crush the chestnuts.
- Transfer it to serving plates, sprinkle sesame seeds and enjoy.
