Momma's Sauce
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato puree
- 2 (15 ounce) cans crushed tomatoes
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato paste
- 1 (8 ounce) can Hunts tomato sauce
- 14 cup red wine
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3 tablespoons garlic, minced
- 14 cup canola oil
- 1 tablespoon parsley
- 1 tablespoon oregano
- 1 tablespoon basil
- 3 slices pepperoni
- Put oil in bottom of saucepan.
- Add minced garlic.
- Brown garlic in oil.
- Add all canned tomato products.
- Mix in about 2 tablespoons of sugar.
- Sprinkle parsley, oregano and basil evenly to coat top.
- Stir.
- Add chunks of pepperoni to add flavor.
- Top off with a splash of table wine.
- Let simmer, stirring often.
- The longer it simmers, the better it tastes.
