Good Little Manicotti Recipe

  1. In 5-qt Dutch oven brown sausage, grnd sirloin and onion; drain well.
  2. Return to Dutch oven and add in tomato puree, tomato paste, sugar, pepper, 1 tsp.
  3. basil, 1 tsp.
  4. oregano, 1 tsp.
  5. salt, and 1 c. water; simmer 1 hour.
  6. Cook manicotti as label directs; drain.
  7. In large bowl combine Ricotta, 1 1/2 c. Mozzarella, parsley, 3/4 tsp.
  8. basil, and 1/2 tsp.
  9. salt.
  10. Stuff this mix into manicotti.
  11. Spoon half of the sauce into a 13x9 baking dish.
  12. Place shells on this and top with remaining sauce.
  13. Sprinkle with Parmesan and desired amount of shredded Mozzarella.
  14. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 min or possibly till cheese is melted and lightly browned.
