Southern Corn Bread Recipe

  1. Put all ingredients in a large bowl; mix well.
  2. Add in bacon drippings, egg, and lowfat milk; mix well.
  3. Add in water and blend mix thoroughly.
  4. Pour batter into a warm, greased 9 inch iron skillet.
  5. Bake at 425 degrees for 12 to 15 min.
  6. For a fancier bread, bake in a warm greased corn stick pan.
  7. Yields 16 servings, about 2 inches square.
