Applesauce Angel food nut cake
- 1 Angel food cake
- 1 cup water
- 2/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/2 finely chopped pecans toasted
- 1 tsp apple pie spice (I used cinnamon instead)
- 1 reduced fat whipped topping and or apple slices
- In large bowl , combine cake mix and water.
- Beat on low speed for 30 seconds.
- Beaton med for 1 minute .
- Fold in applesauce , pecans and pie spice.
- Gently spoon into an ungreased 10 inch tube pan .
- Cut through batter with a knife to remove air pockets.
- Bake on lowest oven rack at 350 for 35-45 or until golden brown.
- Immediately invert pan ; cool completely, about 1 hour run around center and sides of pan remove cake to serving plate.granish with apples/whipped topping.
