Basil and Goat Cheese Pizza
- 1 whole Batch Of Pizza Dough (frozen, Store Bought Or Homemade), For A Large Size Pizza
- 1 whole Large Tomato, Sliced Or Chopped
- 8 leaves Fresh Basil, Chopped
- 8 ounces, weight Fresh Mozzarella Cheese, Thinly Sliced
- Crumbled Goat Cheese, To Taste
- 2 Tablespoons Garlic Butter
- Set out pizza dough to bring to room temperature and allow to rise before preparing pizza.
- (I usually do this at least a few hours in advance because it makes the dough much easier to work with.)
- Place a pizza stone in the oven and preheat to 500 degrees F. Remove stone from the oven after 15-20 minutes.
- Roll out dough and place on top of the hot stone for pizza assembly (this allows the bottom of the crust to cook a little bit while you are making the pizza.
- Otherwise, the bottom crust doesnt cook as fast as the top does.)
- Spread tomatoes out over dough, then layer basil on top.
- Mozzarella should be put on top of the basil to keep it from burning.
- Last, sprinkle goat cheese crumbles on top to taste.
- Bake for 5 minutes, then rotate pizza and bake another 5 minutes.
- Remove pizza from oven and brush the outer crust with garlic butter.
- Bake another 1 minute, or until golden brown.
