Gingery Apple Crumb Pie

  1. Preheat oven 375 with the rack on the lowest position.
  2. In a food process, pulse the butter, 3/4 cup flour, and 1/4 cup sugar until large clumps form.
  3. Transfer to a bowl and refrigerate until ready to use.
  4. Place pie crust into a 9" pie plate.
  5. In a large bowl, toss apples, ginger, cinnamon, salt, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1 tbsp flour.
  6. Place apple mixture into pie plate, sprinkle with crumb topping and bake until golden and apples are tender, approximately 55-60 minutes.
  7. Serve at room temperature.
