Skillet Taco Pie
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 2 Tbsp. taco seasoning mix
- 1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
- 1 3/4 c. biscuit mix
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 c. shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 3 c. shredded lettuce
- 3 tomatoes, chopped
- 1/2 c. sour cream
- Preheat oven to 400u0b0.
- In 10 or 11-inch ovenproof skillet, brown ground beef.
- Drain excess fat.
- Add taco seasoning mix and tomato sauce to browned beef.
- Simmer 5 minutes.
- Spread mixture in skillet; remove from heat.
- In bowl, blend biscuit mix and milk. On floured surface pat dough to form a circle 1 inch smaller than skillet.
- Transfer dough to top of browned beef.
- Bake 12 to 15 minutes.
- Place large platter upside down on skillet.
- Turn over to transfer taco pie on platter.
- Sprinkle cheese over beef mixture; distribute lettuce on top of cheese.
- Put tomatoes on center of cheese.
- Make 6 dollops of sour cream on pie.
- Cut into 6 wedges.
