Baked French Toast Recipe
- 6 lrg Large eggs
- 1 1/2 c. lowfat milk
- 1 c. light cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 c. margarine
- 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. walnuts -- minced
- 1 Tbsp. light corn syrup
- 6 x bread slices
- Grease a 9" square pan.
- Arrange bread slices, overlapping to fill pan completely.
- In bowl, combine Large eggs, lowfat milk, cream, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg; mix well.
- Proportionately spread over bread slices; cover and chill overnight.
- Next day:Preheat oven to 350F.In bowl, combine margarine, sugar, walnuts and corn syrup; mix well.
- Proportionately spread over bread.
- Bake for 40 min or possibly till puffed and golden brown.
