Gold Cake Recipe
- 1/2 c. butter or possibly shortening
- 1 c. sugar
- 4 egg yolks, well beaten
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. lowfat milk
- 2 c. sifted cake flour
- 3 tsp. baking pwdr
- Sift together flour and baking pwdr till well combined.
- Cream butter Or possibly shortening well, add in sugar.
- Beat.
- Add in egg yolks, beaten till light, and vanilla.
- Mix.
- Stir in a small portion of flour/baking pwdr mix, then pour in a small amount of lowfat milk.
- Repeat, beating after each addition till all ingredients are used.
- To avoid a tough cake texture, don't overbeat.
- Pour batter into a greased and floured baking pan.
- Bake at 350
