Chocolate Gravy

  1. In a sauce pan, add the sugar and water.
  2. Place on stove with medium heat.
  3. While the syrup is cooking down mix the remaining ingredients in a bowl.
  4. Add hot water, just enough to form a medium thick paste.
  5. Stir with a Whisk.
  6. When the chocolate paste is well mixed, add it to the water/sugar syrup on the stove.
  7. Continually stir the final mixture with a whisk while cooking over moderate heat.
  8. Cook until the mixture is about as thick as regular gravy.
  9. If you stop the mixing action the gravy at the bottom of the pan will thicken too quickly.
  10. When thickened to about like regular gravy, add the butter and vanilla.
  11. Stir until the butter is mostly melted.
  12. Remove from the heat.
  13. Pour over the hot buttered biscuits.
