Old Fashioned Fruit Cake #4
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1/2 cup grape juice
- 3/4 cup sour milk
- 1 cup blackberry jam
- 1 cup watermelon rind preserves
- 1 cup fruit preserves fig
- 3 cups flour, all-purpose plain
- 4 cups pecans chopped
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 8 large eggs
- 2 small apples raw, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt optional
- 1 each raisins, seedless
- 1/2 pound candied pineapple
- 1 pound candied cherries
- 4 teaspoons cocoa powder
- Mix the above, cook in a greased iron skillet with wax paper lining, cook on 300 degrees.
- This cake freezes well.
