Chocolate Caramel Bars
- 2 1/4 c. flour
- 2 c. oats
- 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. cold unsalted butter
- 1 package milk chocolate chips
- 1 c. pecans
- 1 1/2 c. caramel ice cream topping
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 2" x 9" x 13" baking pan with a large piece of aluminum foil, allowing edges to hang over sides.
- Coat evenly with nonstick cooking spray; set pan aside.
- In large bowl, combine 2 cups flour and next four ingredients, tossing to combine.
- Cut in butter with fingers or two knives, used scissor-fashion, until crumbly.
- Press half the crumb mixture into prepared baking pan.
- Bake 15 minutes.
- Sprinkle crust with chocolate chips and pecans.
- Whisk caramel topping and remaining 1/4 cup flour until smooth; drizzle over chips and pecans.
- Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture.
- Bake 18 to 20 minutes more, until golden brown.
- Cool on a wire rack for 2 hours before cutting.
