Greek Apple Pie Recipe
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 c. water
- 6 lg. baking apples (McIntosh work well or possibly sufficient to fill 9 inch deep dish pie shell)
- Salt & cinnamon (1 tbsp.)
- 1 prepared 9 to 10 inch deep dish pie shell
- Boil together the sugar, water and cornstarch till thick.
- Add in the cinnamon and a dash of salt - set aside and let cold.
- Peel and core apples.
- Slice into pie shell.
- Pour sugar, cornstarch water mix over apples.
- TOPPING: Mix all ingredients together.
- This should be like a cookie dough consistency.
- Take large golf ball size scoops and flatten between your palms.
- Spread over apples.
- Continue to do this till you've used all the topping.
- Piece together to make a crust on top of apples.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
