Beef And Potato Bake
- 4 c. frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed
- 3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1/8 tsp. black pepper
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 pkg. (3/4 oz.) dry brown gravy mix
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 pkg. (10 oz.) frozen mixed vegetables
- 1 c. (4 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1 can (2.8 oz.) French fried onion rings
- In shallow 1 1/2-quart baking dish combine potatoes, oil and black pepper.
- Firmly press mixture across bottom and up sides of dish to form a shell.
- Bake uncovered at 400u0b0 for 15 minutes.
- In the meantime brown ground beef in large skillet; drain.
- Stir in gravy mix, water and garlic powder and bring to a boil.
- Stir in frozen mixed vegetables.
- Reduce heat and cook for 5 minutes.
- Stir in 1/2 cup Cheddar cheese and 1/2 can French fried onion rings. Pour this mixture into potato shell.
- Bake, uncovered, at 350u0b0 for 15 minutes.
- Sprinkle with remaining cheese and onions and bake 5 minutes longer.
- Serve with extra gravy if desired.
