Herbed Oatmeal Bread Recipe

  2. Pour boiling water over oats and let it stand 1/2 hour.

  4. Soak yeast in 1/3 c. hot water - let butter soften.

  6. Add in salt, butter, molasses and special ingredients to oat mix.

  8. Add in yeast, 1/2 at a time, alternating with 2 c. flour.

  10. Knead in remaining flour to make a stiff dough.
  11. 6.
  12. Cover, let rise 3/4 hour till dough is doubled.
  13. Punch down.
  14. Put in two buttered large loaf pans.
  15. 7.
  16. Let rise 3/4 hour till doubled.
  17. 8.
  18. Bake in cool oven at 325 degrees for 1 hour or possibly till done.
