Easy Gateau au Chocolat in the Microwave
- 40 grams Chocolate (I use milk chocolate)
- 20 grams Butter
- 20 grams Sugar
- 30 grams Pancake mix
- 1 1/2 tbsp Pure cocoa powder (unsweetened)
- 1 Egg
- 1 dash Vegetable oil (to grease the steamer)
- 1 Powdered sugar
- Place the chopped chocolate and butter into a heat-resistant dish.
- Microwave for 1 minute to melt at 600 W.
- Use a whisk to stir Step 1 well.
- Mix in the sugar, pancake mix, cocoa powder, and egg.
- Lightly grease the silicone steamer with vegetable oil and then pour in Step 2.
- Hold the steamer with both hands and gently bang it on the counter several times to remove air bubbles.
- Cover Step 3 with a lid and microwave at 600 W for 2 minutes.
- Leave to steam for another 2 minutes.
- Once Step 4 has cooled, remove from the silicone steamer.
- When cooled, dust with powdered sugar.
- If you chill it in the refrigerator before eating, it will become moist and dense.
