Beans And Barley Soup Recipe
- 2 lbs. soup meat
- 3/4 bag fine barley
- 1 bag lg. lima beans
- Garlic pwdr
- Salt and pepper
- 2 carrots (cut into fine pcs)
- 2 stalks celery (cut into fine pcs)
- Put lima beans into a boiling water.
- Let soak.
- In the meantime, rinse barley till water is clear.
- Shell lima beans.
- Place into large soup pot: soup meat, fine barley, lima beans, carrots and celery.
- Add in water till it is at least 3 inches above items in pot.
- Add in seasoning to taste.
- Cook over low heat till lima beans are dissolved.
- (Should be about 5-6 hrs.)
- Stir, making sure soup doesn't stick.
