The Disappearing Date

  1. Chop dates.
  2. In a medium sauce pan combine butter, sugar, milk, salt, and egg.
  3. Cook on medium low stirring constantly for 10 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Add vanilla, dates and Rice Krispies; mix well.
  6. Cool mixture until you can handle it without being burned.
  7. Roll mixture into little balls then roll in coconut.
  8. Note: Do not use store-bought chopped dates.
  9. You need to chop them yourself from whole pitted dates.
  10. To rush cooling, empty contents into a chilled bowl or put them in the freezer.
  11. Store these in the fridge or freezer.
