Deep-Fried Tofu in Sauce with Atsuage

  1. (Make the sauce) Put all of the sauce ingredients into a heat-resistant container and microwave for 1.5 minutes at 600 W.
  2. You could also put the ingredients into a pot and bring to a boil.
  3. Cut the atsuage into bite-sized pieces.
  4. Heat the frying pan and then add the vegetable oil.
  5. Put in the atsuage and fry both sides.
  6. (if you cover with a lid, they'll plump up).
  7. Place the atsuage from Step 4 onto a dish and top with the well-strained grated daikon radish.
  8. Then pour on the sauce from Step 1 and garnish with green onions.
