Barley Cheese Soup

  1. Combine all but last 3 ingredients in 3 qt pot.
  2. Bring to boil, then simmer 15 minutes until barley is tender.
  3. Mix flour into 1/2 cup milk and add.
  4. Add rest of milk.
  5. Cook about five minutes until thickened.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in cheese.
  7. Cover and let stand 3 to 5 minutes.
