10 Minute Enchilada Sauce
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons flour, self-rising
- 1/4 cup new mexico chile powder or other chili powder
- 8 ounces tomato sauce
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin ground
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion salt
- 1 x salt to taste
- In a skillet over medium heat heat the oil.
- Add the flour and chili powder, reduce heat to medium and cook, stirring constantly until lightly browned.
- Slowly add the remaining ingredients and cook over medium heat until thickened slightly, up to 10 minutes.
- Taste and adjust seasoning by salting to taste.
