Peanut Butter Balls
- 1/2 lb. butter or margarine (2 sticks)
- 1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. smooth peanut butter
- 1 box confectioners sugar
- 3/4 bag chocolate bits
- 1 c. fine crumbs of vanilla wafers (I put about 8 at a time in a sandwich bag and pound and roll them with rolling pin or heavy water glass)
- Mix all together.
- I knead it with hands like bread, as it is stiff.
- Form into balls (roll in palm of hands), smaller than walnuts.
- Melt together in double boiler 3/4 of 1 block paraffin wax.
- Roll balls in chocolate mixture and put on wax paper lined cookie sheet.
- I use ice tea spoon with long handle to get them out of double boiler.
- If they stick to pan, you can pull them free by pushing them off wax paper by putting your hand under wax paper. Sounds harder than it is.
- Makes about 60 to 70.
