Brown Sugar Carrots
- 1 lb Baby carrots
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 3 tbsp Dark brown sugar
- 1 tbsp Minced onion
- 1 dash Onion powder
- Gather your ingredients.
- Slice carrots if desired, or you may leave them whole.
- Place carrots into a medium sized saucepan.
- Add enough water to steam.
- You only need a few tablespoons.
- I added enough to cover the bottom of the pan but not the carrots entirely.
- Cover and steam over medium heat about ten minutes or until carrots are soft but not mushy.
- We still want a little bite.
- Uncover and drain any remaining water.
- Place back onto burner and add the butter, brown sugar, minced onion, salt, and pepper.
- Increase heat to medium-high.
- Cook, stirring frequently, until sauce begins to caramelize and carrots begin to brown.
- (About 7 minutes.)
- When they are almost done, add a dash of onion powder and mix well.
