Delicious Italian Style Trifle
- Base
- 3 teaspoon instant coffee, dissolved into 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 chocolate or plain sponge, sliced horizontally into 3
- Filling
- 500g block PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
- 3 x 55g eggs, separated
- 3/4 cup cream
- 1/2 cup caster sugar
- cocoa or drinking chocolate, for dusting
- Pour coffee mixture into a flat dish and dip sponge slices to moisten.
- Place one slice into the bottom of a round serving bowl.
- Beat Philly*, egg yolks, cream and sugar in a large bowl until smooth.
- Pour half the mixture onto the sponge slice; top with second sponge, remaining Philly* mixture and the last sponge.
- Chill for 1-2 hours or overnight, then serve dusted with cocoa.
