Burger With Show Stopper Topper (Low Fat)

  1. FOR THE BURGER: Combine all burger ingredients (beef through black pepper) in a large bowl.
  2. Mix well (using your hands works best).
  3. Divide into 4 equal portions.
  4. Shape each portion into a 1/2 inch thick patty.
  5. Separate patties using wax paper.
  6. This also makes it easier to transfer them to the grill.
  7. Prepare grill.
  8. Cook burgers 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness is reached.
  9. Baste with your favorite barbeque sauce.
  10. Serve on hamburger rolls with your favorite toppings.
  11. Makes 4 servings.
  12. FOR THE SHOW STOPPER BURGER TOPPER: This salsa is a snap to make and tastes fabulous on grilled burgers or grilled chicken sandwiches.
  13. Combine all ingredients in a small bowl.
  14. Mix well.
  15. Allow to stand for 30 minutes for flavors to develop.
  16. Spoon salsa over hot burgers.
  17. Makes about 2 cups.
  18. HINT: Top your burger with non-fat or low-fat cheese slices instead of the regular kind and save about 7 grams of fat per burger.
