Apple and Honey Scones

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, wheat germ, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, salt and nutmeg.
  2. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Combine the apple, milk and honey; add to dry ingredients just until moistened.
  4. Turn onto a floured surfac, knead gently 5 to 6 times.
  5. Gently patt dough into a 9-in.
  6. circle, 1/2 in.
  7. thick.
  8. Combine topping ingredients; sprinkle over dough.
  9. Cut into eight wedges and place on a greased baking sheet.
  10. Bake at 400F (200C) for 15 to 18 minutes.
