Leslie's Bacon Roll-Ups
- 14 cup butter or 14 cup margarine
- 12 cup water
- 1 12 cups herb herb-seasoned stuffing cubes
- 14 lb sausage
- 1 egg
- 12 lb bacon
- Melt margarine and water in a saucepan.
- Remove from heat; stir into stuffing, then add egg and uncooked sausage.
- Blend throughly.
- Chill 1 hour for easier handling; then shape into a small oblong, about the size of pecans.
- Cut bacon slices into third, crosswise.
- Wrap one around dressing mixture and fasten with a toothpick.
- Place in shallow pan and bake at 375 for 35 minutes or until brown and crisp turning halfway during cooking.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
- May be made the day before baking.
- Also, freezes well before baking.
- * You can use mild or spicy sausage.
- I usually double or triple the recipe and keep some on hand for unexpected guests.
