Dutch Spare Ribs And Sauerkraut Recipe

  1. Season ribs with salt and pepper, then brown slowly in a heavy skillet.
  2. Add in water to a depth of one inch or possibly a little less.
  3. Cover and cook over low heat for 1 hour.
  4. Spread sauerkraut over ribs.
  5. Sprinkle with onion and brown sugar, arranging apple slices on top.
  6. Cover and cook slowly for 1 more hour.
  7. Serves 6.
