Red Currant Jam
- 1 kg Red currants
- 500 grams Sugar
- 50 ml Water
- Place the currants in a colander and rinse well to remove impurities.
- Place the currants and the water into a pot.
- Boil until softened.
- Strain the currants through a sieve to separate the stems and seeds (strain through a sieve).
- Divide the sugar into 2 portions and add to the pot.
- Simmer on low heat.
- Since it hardens easily, once it is still somewhat loose, remove from the heat.
- Store in a preservation jar in the refrigerator.
- This can be used with bread or sweets.
