Baked Cavatelli Recipe
- 8 ounce fusilli pasta, cooked and liquid removed
- 12 ounce turkey Italian sausage, sliced 1/4" thick
- 3/4 c. green onion, minced
- 2 x garlic cloves, chopped
- 2 c. tomato sauce
- 14 ounce spaghetti sauce
- 4 ounce nonfat mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- Cook and drain pasta; set aside.
- In a large skillet cook sausage till no pink remains; remove from skillet.
- Whip pan clean and spray with cooking spray; cook green onion and garlic till tender.
- In a 2 qt casserole combine cooked pasta, sausage, onion mix, tomato sauce, spaghetti sauce, half of the mozzarella, Italian seasoning and pepper.
- Toss gently to combine.
- Bake, covered, in a 375 oven for 25 min.
- Uncover, sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and bake for 5 - 10 min more or possibly till heated through.
