Refrigerator Cookies

  1. Cream together the butter, eggs, sugar and vanilla extract.
  2. Gradually add the flour, baking soda and salt.
  3. Fold in the nuts.
  4. Roll the dough into a log about 1 1/2 inches in diameter and wrap in waxed paper.
  5. Freeze for an hour or refrigerate for several hours.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350F.
  7. Remove the dough from the freezer and thinly slice, about 1/4 inch thick.
  8. Place on ungreased cookie sheets and bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
  9. Let cool for 5 minutesand then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
