Simple Mapo Tofu
- 1 block Firm tofu
- 120 grams Minced pork
- 1 half White part of Japanese leek
- 1 half Carrot (optional)
- 1 clove Garlic
- 1 Katakuriko slurry
- 1 1/2 tbsp Tianmianjiang
- 1 tsp Chinese chicken soup stock (powder)
- 1 tsp Soy sauce
- 1 tsp Sake
- 100 ml Water
- 1 tsp Doubanjiang (optional)
- Drain excess water from the tofu for half a day.
- Combine the seasonings.
- Heat vegetable oil and fry the garlic gently to bring out the flavor.
- Add the pork and carrot and stir fry.
- After the meat is cooked through, pour in the mixed seasonings.
- Simmer to let the meat absorb the flavor.
- Add the tofu and leek to simmer.
- It's done.
- My kids (3 year-old and 1 year-old) who love dishes seasoned with tianmianjiang, finished off the plate when I added blanched komatsuna to the dish!
