Fried Green Tomatoes Italian Style
- 2 whole Green Tomatoes
- 3 Eggs
- 1- 1/2 cup Progresso Italian Seasoned Bread Crums
- 1- 1/2 cup Kraft Parmesan Cheese
- Oil, For Frying
- Peel skin from tomatoes.
- Remove stem portion.
- Slice vertically into four slices each tomato.
- In a shallow bowl, beat eggs.
- In another shallow bowl, combine bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese.
- Heat oil in a frying pan or deep fryer.
- Dip each tomato slice in egg and then in bread crumbs.
- When in bread crumbs, press crumbs onto the tomato slice.
- Fry in oil until just turning light brown; turn and fry the other side.
- Remove from oil and place on a rack to drain.
- Best served while warm.
